Beta privacy notice
Updated October 29, 2026. Btutored is in a small, invite-only beta. This is what happens to your family's information.
What we keep
- Your account: name, email, and whether you're a parent or student.
- What the student tells us when they set up: grade, classes, study habits and interests.
- Study materials the student uploads: notes, study guides, slides and photos of them.
- Study activity: questions asked, answers given, progress, test dates and scores entered.
- Feedback and problem reports you send us.
How it's used
Only to run Btutored: writing questions from the student's notes, grading answers, planning study time, showing parents how prepared their student is, and improving the app during the beta. We don't sell your information or show ads.
Services that process it for us
- Anthropic (Claude) reads the notes and answers to write questions, hints and feedback.
- OpenAI turns questions into speech for read-aloud and turns spoken answers into text.
- Supabase stores accounts and study data. Vercel hosts the app.
These companies handle the data only to provide their service to us, under their business terms.
Who can see it
Each family's information is walled off from every other family. Parents can see their own student's progress and test results. The person running the beta can see app data to fix problems.
Your choices
You can ask us to delete your family's account and everything in it at any time, and you can leave the beta whenever you like. Use the Feedback option in the app, or contact the person who invited you.
Please don't upload anything you wouldn't want a tutor to see, such as medical or financial documents.
